TRAINING

As a concerned citizen, YOU can participate in the Get the Dirt Out project and help reduce polluted stormwater runoff from construction sites.  In fact, the success of the GTDO project will be dependent upon the training and deployment of citizen volunteers who are committed to protecting our waterways. And, willing to spend an average of two hours per week monitoring construction sites and documenting their stormwater management practices.

To participate as a construction site monitor, citizens are required to attend a Volunteer Training Workshop.  The workshop will only take 2 – 3 hours of your time, and will provide you with all of the information and tools you will need to help us monitor construction site stormwater management practices and prevent sediment-laden runoff from damaging our waterways.

Attending a training workshop is required – it’s easy, and provides important guidance you’ll need to be a safe and effective site monitor.

The Training Toolkit is provided for you to preview in advance of the Volunteer Training Workshop or to review after you have attended a workshop. They provide the foundation for the information and training that citizen volunteers will need to become effective monitors of stormwater management practices while at a construction site.

You don’t need to bring anything with you except your interest and commitment.
