| National Campaign Launched To Raise Awareness of the Devastating Effects of Coal
“Simply stated, clean coal is a dirty lie,” said Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Chairman of Waterkeeper Alliance. “You don’t have to live in the coalfields or in the shadow of a coal-fired power plant to be affected by this filthy industry. Coal pollutes our water, our food and our bodies with toxic mercury, causes acid rain and demolishes ecosystems, and is grossly accelerating climate change.”
Information about the campaign and a petition to sign are available at The Dirty Lie.com

| Wal-Mart, and to a lesser extent Home Depot and Lowe's, have taken steps to temporarily address unsustainable cypress harvesting for mulch in Louisiana, but the hike has just begun. Please send an email today to ask Home Depot, Lowe's, and Wal-Mart to live up to their environmental commitments by permanently ending the sale of unsustainable cypress mulch, no matter where it is logged.
Write a letter to the major cypress mulch retailers - Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and Lowes. Tell them to abide by their own corporate sustainability pledges and stop selling cypress mulch.
